Our Metabolism Blood Spot Test Kit is easy to use from the comfort of your home and tests the critical biomarkers involved in the body’s metabolism, and overall metabolic function

Healthy metabolic function is necessary to properly convert food to energy to support life-sustaining chemical reactions in all organisms.  These reactions help control essential functions such as respiration, temperature, circulation, and fat storage.

Three key biomarkers tested for metabolic function include Cortisol, Total Testosterone, and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone.  Each of these tests provides important information involving optimal metabolic function.

Metabolism Test FYI

Cortisol, Total Testosterone, and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone each play a significant role in the body’s metabolic process and the rate at which calories are converted to energy.  If any one of the three hormone levels is too high or too low, a metabolic imbalance can occur, resulting in excessive or rapid weight loss or weight gain.

Three key biomarkers TSH, Total T, and C help assess metabolic health and function.

How Metabolic Biomarkers Work

Each of the three key metabolic biomarkers Cortisol, Testosterone, and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone play a part in metabolism and how efficiently the body uses calories for energy.  One of more key hormones may be out of balance creating metabolic dysfunction.

BIOMARKERS MEASURED

TSH - Thyroid stimulating hormone is produced in the adrenal glands and signals to the thyroid gland to make more or less thyroid hormones.  These signal the cells when to breakdown or store fat.

Total T - Testosterone helps control the body’s level of fat mass.  Too much or too little testosterone can have negative consequences in both men and women including fat production, acne, and male pattern baldness.   Total T measures both free and bound testosterone in the blood.

C - Cortisol, the body’s “fight or flight” hormone signals the body to dump glucose into the bloodstream for quick energy when needed.  Higher than normal cortisol levels, over a period of time can cause excessive weight gain.
